Wasssup, Fellow Kayak Anglers!
My name is Ed and I will be moving to Livermore, Ca in the middle of March. I started kayak fishing back in 2008 up in the White Mountains of Arizona - Mainly Trout Fishing. I started out with a Ocean Kayak Scrambler XT and after 2 years and a nice Tax Return, I bought myself a 2010 Hobie Revolution. I got into bass fishing from may kayak and it was a blast, especially with a Hobie kayak. I started giving kayak fishing seminars at Paddle Events and later organized kayak fishing tournaments. I was on the Heroes on The Water commitee for our wounded war veterans, where we took local veterans out on the water to kayak fish. It was a great organization :-) I formed a kayak fishing group on Facebook for Arizona and it has over 1600 members now! In August of 2015, I moved to Idaho, because of a career change. I was an Operations Supervisor for Network Operations, but working in a field that was 24/7 365 got to me, especially working graveyards for 5 years. So I am currently in Caldwell, Idaho, a member of the National Hobie Fishing Team through Alpenglow Mountainsports and I am getting ready to relocate to NorCal. I used to live in Oakland/Alameda back in '65. I do remember some fishing, whenever my Dad took me to Treasure Island for striper fishing :-) So it has been awhile. I have family in Foster City and Santa Cruz. So the relocation is bringing me closer to family. I have been researching local freshwater lakes in the Livermore area and it looks promising :-) Since I am moving away from Idaho, I am losing my Hobie Ambassadorship, which I am bummed about. It was a great experience promoting the Hobie Brand and it still is a blast promoting them.  I can't wait to get to my new home and start fishing and meeting new fishing friends!!!
Cheers!!!

Welcome to Livermore.

We got quite a few tri-valley members.  Feel free to reach out if you want to know more about your local options.  Just be aware, almost all of our lakes within the area have kayak inspections, meaning your kayak needs to be clean and dry to launch.

Will do! :-) He just got his '17 Outback. Weather has sucked up here, so he really hasn't had a chance to really use it yet!

Doesn't stop him from playing in the snow on that modified motocross, dudes "nucking futs"  I'm guessing you won't be fishing your way through? Have fun in Cali and be sure to get ahold of the HOW guys there.

When you visit your family in Santa Cruz, be sure to bring your kayak along. Lots of NCKA'ers fish there, and some of us even have Hobies.

Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

Welcome, don't worry about losing your embassadorship. Everyone around here is a prostaff of some sort.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Yes, there are a few lakes and the Delta near Livermore, but once you hit the Salt and hook up on a Ling Cod, you'll only be hitting freshwater in the winter, after rockfish season closes

In the game of biggest fish, if you can't enjoy routinely gettin' your ass handed to you, by great fishermen, then you don't belong in the NCKA.
