Holy hell Batman the HYW17 took a beating from these last few storms!  I was sorry to hear of the worker that was killed during the cleanup process.  I'm in AZ for work now so I've been somewhat lucky in not having to deal with my normal morning commute over 17.  I wouldn't have where able quite a few day.
My little creek, ain't so little.  it's been completely transformed.  Where I had a really big root ball, was  now 7' of sand an gravel before this last storm last week,  Not sure what it looks like at this moment  (Not home).  I used to have a 4' pool below a downed log, that crossed the creek, now I have 70' of sand and gravel.  Flat beach!  The tree that fell on my deck back in may, was moved down stream about 1.5 feet+/-.
On a positive note,
Wife happened to catch a Blue Heron walking up our creek a few days ago (When it wasn't raging and the sun was on that part of the creek) We've never seen them up in our woods before.
Hope everyone fared well through this last deluge.

I'm betting we still have one or two more big walllops. March can be pretty f'in rainy, but the storms will be more spread out. Rather than have one or two days sun between five days of storm, we'll have one to three days of storm followed by three to five days of clear weather.

We've broken it's back at least (or vice versa)

Three events this past week here in Aptos.
Thursday, (last week) Tree takes out power lines, mud slide, road closed most of the day, 24 hours to open back up
Friday again ( this week) Tree takes everything out, about 200 yds from first event. Power, comcast / phone, road closed most of the day again...  party at my neighbors bottom of the hill , this time I bring the beer.. LOL
Saturday 3am,Less than 24 hrs ,, wind calm, rain stopped,   Trees attack again.  Same as above,  we're getting to know the new neighbors..!
I don't know what's worse, no power, or no internet, or not being able to drive out.  Oh well...  At least I have a generator to keep the beer cold.      Got to enjoy some sun while cleaning up the garden yesterday.

Thursday is the start of another set of storms... at least these are Alaskan,, not  Pineapple..  :smt044
but with saturated soil,,, who know's.
