I bought her almost year ago, with just few time OTW, and went out about 15-20 times.

It comes with turbo fins, tramps, 1x HAKA (us spineboard, used), 3 seats (one is pretty much new hobie seat; one boat seat, which fits this year AI great and the one I used; and original one with broken straps), wired for Lowrance with bath transducer install, pretty much new battery in a hobie box, lots of railblaza and some RAM mounts and rod holders, tiller extension, and more.

I was not planning to sell her, but just accepted new job offer, so will likely be busy for a while. Still keeping my Ultra for times I can get water therapy.

Nice looking boat with lots of great extras. If I didn't have one already, I'd be interested...

I love the videos.  This is inspiration to get out on the water.

I have a few questions if you don't mind. I'm trying to decide between a new Revo 16 and older ai (this one particularly, so I am interested, not wasting your time).

I guess my major question is storage? Can I load this thing in my truck bed? I normally hang my kayaks on the wall, how hard is it to remove the ama's to hang this on the wall? How hard is it to portage to the water, say across a beach, on the wheeleez beach cart? How hard is it to run as a regular kayak as far as breaking it down and getting ready? How is it to fish off of? I imagine great in the ocean, but what about say in the delta or something, or jigging for rockfish? I assume you can remove one tramp and do it that way.

I guess my biggest concern is the practicality of it. I understand that's a relative thing due to the benefits. But other than storage and transport which is an actual concern, I'm just having a hard time deciding if I'd actually need an ai or if I'd be happy with the revo. I like the lowrance ready, chair and 180 drive in the revo, I wonder if I'd miss them if I got an ai, and I wonder if I'd miss ama's and sailing if I got the revo!

I've also never sailed in my life, so I have no clue if I'd like it or not.

Anyway, sorry for all the hypotheticals and such, I'm just trying to get a feel for why people go with the ai over Revo or visa Vera to try and get some perspective and make a better choice.

Thanks,

Cody!

I had a 2013 Hobie "Adventure" (still have it, actually) for a 3 years before buying a used (2014) AI last summer.  The Adventure is just the AI hull, basically the same as the current Revo 16. To my mind, there is no disadvantage to the AI. You can use the AI without the amas and it's just like the Revo 16. The AI breaks down easily for transport and storage. And I think most people with AIs use them with 1 ama a lot of the time, as that is an ultra-stable kayak mode. And when conditions are right, the full AI battlecruiser mode is just incredibly awesome. Of course the newer models have the lawn chair seat and the 180 drive. I think the seat is the only thing that could possibly tip the balance for you. A lot of people love that new style of seat, but for me the old style works just fine, and there are some great deals to be had on pre-2015 AIs. So, for me it would be a no-brainer. Anyways, feel free to PM me if you want to any additional info.

Even you were not interested in this particular one I'd still be happy to help ;) Lots of questions, perhaps we should talk?

To answer some:
Size - it's 16.5', little bit longer than my Ultra. I store it in garage, on the wall, and transport on the roof.
I've been using it with standard wheelez (there are special adapters for AI, but I have not tried them).
If you can roll to the beach or boat launch you can assemble it on parking lot, if not (rocks or wall) - you can assemble on the beach.

Lots of fish - various - have been caught from AI, search youtube ;) Some folks are even sailing and fishing at the same time

As of sailing. That was my main reason buying it- I wanted to try sailing and I love it (some people complain that they don't fish as much anymore  b/c they sail AI :) Of course, you never know. I'm hooked and will continue sailing, just probably not in next 6+ months

PM me if you want to chat
