Great price for a Mirage drive with a boat thrown in to sweeten the deal.  Looks like with a couple of new peddle mast, you would good to go.

I saw them advertised at Austin Kayak for around $18, but it wasn't clear if they were the ones with holes in the end for cotter pins. I guess if I order and replace I can just add the price into the sale.

Original design mast.  Less expensive to buy ss rod, cut to length, file flat spot on one end.

And as the owner/peddler of one of these, I was warned to look carefully for cracks in the well....
I weigh just short of 200 lbs, and this style has barely enough flotation to carry me and any gear. The rear well is small and rounded.. so not conducive to milk crate.
I'm not down on it, but if I knew then what I know now, I might have saved up for something a bit more practical....

I knew little to nothing about this model when I bought it from my neighbor. Later this spring I'll remove one of the masts and look for a stainless steel rod to cut down and file. If it doesn't sell it will become my son's.
