V2 Drive conversion to MD 180 Drive

Looks like if you own a V2 drive, it can be converted to a MD 180 drive.  I wonder if Hobie will sell a conversion kit.

It seems to me that by the time you get the spine assembly, fins, masts, 180-specific cables, etc, you'd probably not save much (if anything) as compared to buying a new 180 drive. And Hobie is not exactly noted for giving bargain basement prices for upgrades...

is it me or did he just dis-assemble the 180 drive and re-assemble it? I thought it was going to put it on the V2 drive. I'm sure its the same thing just weird lol

I am putting the pieces together, if this is what it takes to covert a V2 Drive to MD 180.  Other parts maybe needed, I don't see the cables for forward and reverse.

If that's everything then it's not nearly as bad as I'd expected.

I suppose he may have referenced it, but it sure would have been nice to see him complete a swap over from the v2. If you or anyone else does a conversion please post, I'm very interested like many others I'm sure.
