If I wanted to tow a trailer I would not have bought a motorhome.  :smt002
This is just the first go around for the MH rack. There is a very good chance there will be a version 2, just need to see what my access and cost to aluminum will be.
As soon as the wx gets better I'll post a video. I always learn a lot by watching videos of things I've done. Things happen that I don't even notice a lot of times and gives me a better opportunity to correct those things.
One thing I definitely learned doing this; it's a helluva lot easier trying to come up with ideas by taking a bunch of pics and staring at them in a warm room on the computer than it is freezing my @ss off staring at a bunch of freezing metal on top of the MH during a wind and rain storm.  :smt044

Nice work...me like it
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Thanks for posting---that looks awesome.

Eventually, I want to get a small pickup to replace my CRV, and have been daydreaming about how I would load a full AI on it without having to break it down (and without using a trailer). This is some food for thought...
I'm in the same boat.  Got a pickup w/lumber rack but thinking of some assisted contraption to put on it to load n unload the AI.  In the meantime I got a trailer.
I have an idea rattling around in my noodle about that exact thing :smt003 because with an extra tall 5th wheel and a 1 ton 4 door Ford on long runs we will need our yaks over the hood and cab and I'm only 5'10  :smt012 or TLW would have to chase in The outback with the trailer  :smt044 like that will happen.
Now if a couple of you guys want to bounce ideas back and forth across state lines pm an email address or cell if you gots a smart phone.

Wilt Chamberlain would have a hell of a time getting them on top of  this beast.

I'm thinking of a bed extender and some pvc tubing to act as a tilt-up rack that can used to slide the kayak forward and back. Then loading and unloading the boat would be very similar to loading and unloading from a trailer. That's probably not a very good description, but I can picture it, and don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, although it's sure to take a couple of failures to work out all of the bugs...

i recall seeing this a while back and for sale. can't find it now but imagine you sold it?> sure would be a nice alternative and space saver vs going out solo and taking the trailer each time.

I don't remember who bought it, but I believe it was sold at the first or second AOTD tournament and InSein's and Naoaki's old place. Looooong time ago.

Something like that would be super simple to build and with the new led light technology could really be pimped out.
