I just might have enough of an itch to give it a shot depending on where you plan on going?
1st winter in bay area for me from Upstate NY. Sold my otter shanty, heater, vexilar and power auger but kept jigging rods, tackle and nils auger and actually kind of miss it.
Bah... To the cold

Being from Minnesota I've been ice fishing countless times.

Every year in January we would have a new influx of Assignees come in from Japan (Fujitsu). One of the first things we wold do was take them ice fishing. We would auger the hole, hand them an ice fishing pole, bait and bucket.

After we would get a good laugh we'd then take them real ice fishing.
