Salmon during the week

I'm passing on the opener, and opting for some private bass ponds and turkey hunting this weekend. When I get back I'm hoping for rave reviews of the weekend salmon opener. I've never done it from a yak, but looking forward to hittin it this year. Anyways, I'm planning on doing a combo salmon/surfing trip south of the bay with my son for a couple days, Wed/Thurs. May go as far south as Santa Cruz.  No idea where to start. Hopefully some weekend reports will help narrow it down. Any suggestions where, and what to try would be most welcome.

Moss Landing is the place to go.  Reports from Coastside Fishing Ciub is they are picking fish near the 2 mile area. Halfmoon Bay is more like 6 to 8 miles out.

I will be out on a party boat Tues or Wed.
