Looking at the link photo and growing up in Montana as a kid all I gotta say is really only thing we would habd closed is the barn door to keep the cows warm. Unless it's really worse then the photo of the flatbed tow truck in what appears to be no more then 12 inches of snow if that?

Heading up in the morning to go skiing!  Yup!

Made it up to Sierra At Tahoe, but the only chair open was the bunny hill.  At 10am, after counting numerous avalanche booms, I asked a ski patroller if any other lifts were gonna open.  He told me there was absolutely zero chance.  Winds over 100mph up top, they couldn't see the effect of their blasting in most locations and those they could drifted over within the hour, so they gave up until tomorrow.

I'll head up tomorrow too, although there's a pretty poor chance they'll be opening much of the upper parts.  It will take 'em at least an hour to test for avalanche, pitch their dynamite then see if it's safe.  More like 2 to 4 hours.  By then, it doesn't pay to start turning the chairs.  But, I'm optimistic.  Figure about 4 feet of powder with snow loaded areas maybe 6 feet or more.  I live for those first tracks!!!
