Wondering what type of rigs you guys are using for drifting frozen anchovies? Last weekend I tried using a dodger connected to a krippled anchovy, got tons of line twist despite using bead chain swivels above the dodger. Trolling speed was super low, too....probably not above the max speed for the dodger. Any advice would be appreciated!

you need a bead swivel after the dodger, not just before.  the dodger doesn't spin that much but the bait will.  you don't need to use a krippled anchovy, you can put a single hook in the nose, a trailer hook is useful but not required.  I personally use the krippled chovy due to having poor quality bait which will tear up too much when being handled.

Also, Halibut don't care that much about the bait spinning.

Thanks a ton BNB. I think I copied the rig you posted a while back, think I did have a swivels before and after the dodger but cNt remember. So when you say halibut don't care much about spin, does that mean the dodger isn't really required? I'm using a 2 hook rig with a treble trap hook, heard from other guys you can adjust the front hook to get the chovie to "bend" a little, which also creates a swimming/rolling action.

The dodger isn't required.  dodgers usually swim side to side rather than spin.  the dodger is there to create flash and attraction. I use it to cause commotion, just like the way i bounce the shit out of the ball off the bottom.  I'd also make sure you use a thick mono or fluoro leader as they will spin less than a thinner leader.  Halibut are not known to be particularly line shy.

the trap rig works fine. I don't personally like a sliding trap rig, i lost a fish once due to abrasion on the leader from the sliding front hook, so now when i tie a trap rig i use a fixed length to the size of bait i'm using so there can be a bit of spin.  but the spin of the bait really isn't necessary as i said.
