Fish NJ/NY waters, ride a Hobie i11s, looking to share and consume info on my kayak and kayak fishing generally. Have always wanted to fish the left coast, and since I can fly with the inflatable, it might just happen!

Welcome, the left coast is the place for salmon fishing!  Plenty of places to go for salmon fishing, doesn't have to go more than 1-3 miles from the coast.

Hi there welcome, you'll find awesome folks here that are willing  to share a wealth of knowledge.
I am by -coastal. Live in north jersey and in nor cal. Recently got a kayak in jersey. been trying to find a forum / fishing buddies out there. Been kayak fishing for a while on the west coast. Let me know if you ever what to fish together.  :smt006

BTW: how do you like the i11s? How do you find it out front in the wind and waves? Tracking stability? Looking into one of those myself.

Ken, we've interacted on the east coast forum, guys there will get you on fish first thing in Spring. I do like the i11s, but one of the questions I hope to ask here is if/how folks have surf launched the thing. I've had it out in wind and wave aplenty, and have never felt tippy; however, have yet to attempt a surf launch/landing.

There are some crazies around here who would surf launch on a rubber ducky if it would handle their fishing gear, so I'm sure it's been done...
