Okay, so I might opt for something other than a beach launch at Bean Hollow.  This could be a great opportunity for us to hone our rough water paddling skills, epic!  The downside is that those 25' - 28' swells are kind of a challenge for getting the buoy line scope set correctly....

there's a great story in an old Surfer's Journal about a young charter skipper (who was also a surfer) riding a huge swell into HMB in the fleet's oldest, slowest boat. He had to actually surf it in through the 20ft high whitewater.
captain of the newest, fastest boat "hurt himself" (as the story goes, it was on a homegrown " toothpick") and couldn't pilot the craft in, gave the tiller to the 18yr old deckhand and went below. Owner of the vessel had to be helicopter'd out and drive it in himself when none of the other skippers would do it for any amount of money.
wanna say it would have been in the 90's?

My wife was living there at that time and said a few family friends were caught in that storm.

There was definitely some puckering going on there. Good old Noyo Harbor Entrance.

By tonight....FAC forecast. The reason is, the people wanted to scare anyone off so they could have the coast to themselves. Post up the bad/fake info so people change their plans, and then correct the forecast at the last minute.
