c&r... are roosters not good eating fish?

Nope.

-Allen

Personal thing I would definitely not tell people they are bad. They may not be the best but we loved it. One girl we were with even preferred it over the fresh speared marlin.

They're still not that good of an eating fish.  With so many choices of which fish to eat on a daily basis, why take the one that is likely to not taste as good to most people?

-Allen

I would fo sho shoot one in the face if it let me.

 :smt003

I've eaten the hell out of jack crevalle in Nicaragua...always threw em back growing up cuz heard they were inedible...they taste great to me when done right.

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Jim, you are not the measure of most people.  If you like jack crevalle, then you'll love roosterfish.

I'd eat either if it was the only option.  But given a choice, these drop off the list fast.  Most people generally do not find these fish appealing.

Yeah!  Next year!

this year maybe we should go down to LaJolla and rent rooms at that beachfront hotel for a few days.  August/September is best time.

ps I am still going to look into channel Islands trips out of Santa Barbara. Again, later in summer is better.

I'm into these options!!

I just told you why. Because it was good, even more preferable than marlin to someone. Sooo I don't think it's fair to say it's "not good". Personal preference. Just different.

So most people don't find it appealing, but you and another you know found it good.  Good for you!  However, regardless of your own personal preference, do you agree that most people would say they are generally not good eating?

6/6 people that tried it liked it. One preferred it. If you don't like it that's fine. Doesn't mean it's "bad" :smt006

6/6 people that tried it hated it.  One really hated it.  If you like it, that's fine.  Doesn't mean it's "good".   :smt006   :smt002   :smt003

So basically we're saying it is neither good, nor bad.  YMMV.   :smt004
