Ran over to fishermans warehouse at lunch and while looking around I noticed a (new?) model of the very popular Ugly Stik Tiger lite... the elite series. First thing that caught my eyes was the grip and guides. I felt a pretty noticeable difference in weight too. It's 20 dollars more than the non-Elite model. I was just curious if anybody has any experience with these?

Saw a small ad about upgrades might be it ?!?

The guides are stainless steel, grip looks like the EV foam and noticeably lighter than the non-elite model. I ended up buying it and going to try it out hopefully this weekend. Got this from the Shakespear website:

•Ugly Tech™ construction with added graphite for lighter weight, increased sensitivity and better pulling power
•Ugly Tuff™ one piece stainless steel double-footed guides provide maximum durability and eliminate insert pop-outs
