Had planned to try Monterey for dabs, but my buddy couldn't make it so I decided to give Del Valle a try, mainly to keep my paddling muscles in shape.  I think it's about to time to hit the ocean because the warm weather really brought the people out.  The PB were lined up to launch when I arrived at 6:30 and later the beach was pretty full of people.

I C&R'd 5 bass through the day.  The wind came up in the afternoon, blowing from the Northwest.  At the end, I returned to the Launch area, trolling, for the first time, Joel's favorite, a Risto Rap.  I didn't get any hits with it earlier even though I came through a spot several times, that looked very fishy on the FF.  But as I was about to head to the ramp I thought I saw something silver break water and thought I'd troll through that spot.  To my surprise, a 13 inch trout hit the RR.  So I guess I'll have to keep some of those in box from now on.

Good haul.  That's a beauty of a trout, full fins.
