Lowrance Elite 5 Ti...Satellite Lock Issue! Help!

Hey guys. I just got the lowrance elite 5 ti and tested it out on the water today however notice that I am not able to get satellite lock. I tried everything I know, read up on the manual however not much on it.

Other than the GPS issue, the touch screen, sonar, downscan, sidescan, etc...worked awesome. Love it. Now I just need to get the GPS to work!

I played with it more tonight. I hooked up my old Elite 5 chirp and it found satellite within minutes. I then hooked up the Elite 5 TI in the same location and it still searching even after 30 minute of it on.

Anyways if someone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

If you haven't done anything much, I would try a factory reset.

I did an update to the latest firmware as well.

Elite5Ti-2.0-55.1.74-Standard-1.zip

did a restore to default, soft reset, and hard reset. Right now its going over an hour and no satellite lock yet.

In GPS Source it is on Elite-5Ti iGPS. Tried it with WAAS/MSAS/EGNOS on and off without any change to the satellite lock.

I had a problem with my GPS lock at home on my Helix, but when I moved to another part of the house (and opened the window), it got what it needed within 3 minutes.  Sorry, that's all I can think of (other than refund).

Great, I only had the unit for one day lol hopefully its something simple so I'm not without it for long.

thank you for the suggestion yakyakyak. If the old fish finder is able to find a satellite in the same location, I doubt moving it to a different location would make a difference. Also I used it all day today so 6 hrs on the water, it should have found a lock in that time period.

I'm hoping it will paint the salmon bright orange so I can locate them lol

I order it on Amazon so I could return it but it will be a hassle to uninstall everything and wait I'll give CSR a call on Monday.

Skip right to the end, uninstall and return.  Get a working unit right from the box ....  ya.... it's a pain, i kno.  it sux.

called lowrance this morning and apparently I have to send in the unit. I did everything possible from what the guy say so not much I can do but to replace the unit.

I was thinking of upgrading to the 7 but refrain and got another 5. Its coming in on Wednesday so I won't be without a fish finder for the long weekend . Then will ship the defective headunit back to them. Amazon made it easy with its return policy

If anyone has any issue and you tried the following and it doesn't work, you have to replace the head unit.

1. upgrade firmware
2. restore to default
3. soft reset
4. hard reset

if any of those doesn't work then its time for a new unit.
