Adam, I talked directly to DFG and they informed me that as long as I had a license I was within the law. Frank

I'd double check the castnet on freshwater Frank.  On the delta we were limited to dipnets.

Either Adam. Last year their was a discussion on this and there were a few post about this topic but most of what was being posted was second hand info. So I went directly to DFG and confirmed that as long as we stayed with in the guidelines of the nets,traps and dip nets we could in fact use them in our waters.

Technically that DFG response is correct but it doesn't say much.  This is directly from the Freshwater Reg book, pg 11 sec4.05 baitfish capture, and it specifies dip nets in freshwater.

Stand corrected got my nets and live bait confused.Reg 4.05 is the correct reg.
