DOTY 2016 update (prizes/standings etc)

Little over 2 months left in this year's DOTY competition!!

DG still has a commanding lead followed by Yowlie, Rob Luiz and Thomas:

But...Steve aka lorikay2 and LiveAloha Kris Cortez each have halibut in their back pocket so could easily make a run for the top spots!

The DOTY winner will get a custom hand carved wooden "Piscean Plaque" and a killer KelpCamo Jackson Kayak Kraken 13.5 that is already in my back yard.

There will also be plaques/trophies for the biggest fish in each category...last year Kris Cortez' wife Yohanna made them and they were killer so hopefully this year they will be the same or even better!

"Each participant in AOTY/DOTY will automatically receive one entry into a raffle once they pay the $40 entry fee. Participants can receive up to 20 additional raffle entries for each species submitted and approved in both AOTY and DOTY. 21 entries into the raffle will be the max that any player can have. The goal of the raffle is to encourage participation and friendly competition amongst those anglers and divers that may not be able to invest the amount of time needed to finish in the top three"

Yowlie, if you can prevent DG from getting a Sheep you have a shot at taking first...maybe steal his guns? Or his car so he can't drive south??!?

Nah, stripers are not a DOTY species in 2016...will be adding them on in 2017 though...

Hah, I know how this goes.  I am shooting for top ten.  But DG has never been South of Salmon Creek, so that part's OK.

All i'll say is i was within 30mins driving time from my front door and was in my super secret monkey spot

Yeah haven't been south in awhile.  Only went earlier in the year because visibility was 2-3 ft up north and 5-10 was way better. 

I think I will have to camp out south until I get a Sheep this year.   But not heading down just yet. 

Good luck all.  Next year I am stepping back and helping some new divers get into the sport so more of you can move up a spot on DOTY as I will probably only enter them if I get some big ones.
