Might've been the nicest day I've ever had on the Sonoma coast. Definitely the best conditions I've had on a yak. I've been surfing on this coast for 20 years and haven't seen to many days like that. Took a buddy out for maybe the last time before he moves outta state.
I started out trolling for salmon outside the cove cuz I saw some big boats out there but didn't get a bite. I'm a real rookie when it comes to salmon. Still have a lot to learn. So I headed back to the cove and caught some bait, I could hardly put the sabiki in the water before I had one on. There must've been a big hatch recently. The visibility had to be 20-25' at least. I could see them everywhere. So I had a limit of lings in no time, everyone of them had a belly full of finned fish, not one octopus coughed up. Also landed a personal best Blackie, I know no photos it didn't happen, I busted my waterproof phone case. Wish I had today off so I could get back out there!

Glad you had such a great day.  What a memory for your buddy also.

Was this stillwater north? (Sonoma Co.) If so, sounds like good salmon conditions..

Yea seemed like it, there where a lot of motor boats outside the cove , I tried trolling next to them , it was about 180', I did about 150 pulls with a deep six, flasher, apex rig but didn't get anything, didn't see much on the finder and the boats didn't look to busy ether. I heard they where hitting them hard down by tomales point yesterday.
