I got a squall from Mitchell'sNorthSouth.  I really like it.  Level wind, smooth drag and click drag adjustments.  and a strong clicker that will hold 5oz weight in free spool.....Like the 500's do.

I'm learning to use a conventional and enjoying the philosophy behind it off a kayak.  I have a beastly seeker 8ft one piece with a finnor 50 spinning.  A lami 8.6 with 4000 thunnus, certainly too long but can pull up stingrays, but am having a blast with a 7ft ugly tiger someone gave me, that CaptnJohn pulled up from my turtling loss. that has an old school penn 500 that is my conventional classroom reel.  Just had the penn fully cleaned and re drag washered, the washers were from the 60's.  Now, here's my latest happiness, just put my newly revived penn on a shiny spankin' 7ft trevala jig rod.  Waiting for my sufix 832 ghost braid 30lb to be spooled today.  150 yards on top of sufix superior 30lb mono.  My rod reel guy loaned my a beautiful penn 501 but the reel wouldn't fit on the jig mount for the trevala, so I put it on the tiger.  I am beginning to understanding short rod ergonomics and varietal gear depending on preference of style.  Spin or conventional, fast or slow tip, parabolic vs. heavy action, prolly too much stinkin' thinkin', "just shutup and fish already", Eddie says to himself...... :smt005 :smt006

seems like the tiger 7' is the way to go - also in the market for a rod!

I would recommend Tiger Lite over Tiger
2015 TI
2017 Outback

I'd recommend springing for a Trevala - much better than the Tigers for most uses.
