Going camping with the family and friends for Memorial Day weekend in Salt Point and trying to see if I have enough space to bring the kayak and fishing gears :-) What is the best place to launch/fish over there? Is it Ocean Cove?

If you have some help, you can launch at Gerstle Cove in Salt Point. If you don't mind dragging your yak thru some rocks, you can do that, too.

Yup Ocean Cove is what I was thinking... Let's hope I will have room for my gears :-) If I can make it to the Cove, any recommendation on the direction for fishing? Never been there

If fishing from Ocean Cove, I'd go left towards Stillwater Cove.
If you have a fishfinder, look for structures. Pretty much that area has plenty of fish. Good luck.

As my daughter's friend is not coming I found space for the kayak and gears :-) so I should give Ocean Cover a shot tomorrow.

If it looks like the weather might get rough paddle upwind! You will be happier if you can paddle back, instead of climbing up a cliff somewhere else and hitching a ride back.

Well my report is going to be quick as I didn't launch :-) I tried Saturday morning but the weather was rough and no one else was going out so I decided to play safe and go back to camp. We went on a hike later in the day and the wind was rather strong, so glad I decided not to go.
The weather looked much better this morning but I had to pack and get home....
