For what use?  I have 2.  A bigger one for canning.  A smaller one for every day use.  Both Presto.

Would you buy a tandem kayak for the two of you?

Sure.  But it is more a matter of convenience.  Get the big one, and she has to deal with an oversize cooker in the kitchen when cooking.  Get a small one, and you have to do more batches when canning.  This is why I have 2.

I have used a pressure cooker for many years.  One of the best cooking tools ever.  The brand I have is Fagor.  There is a model with hi and low temp. gauges or some adjustment that I would consider if I ever got another and the larger one is more useful than the smaller size.  For canning they are not interchangeable sizewise .02$ :smt006

I had an old girlfriend that was a chef.  It was amazing what she could do with a pressure cooker.  (Sure sounds like there should be  a punch line here.)

She recommended this book that I really found helpful.

The new models are not as scary as the older ones.

Hi Andy,

You got too much good stuff to not have a pressure cooker.  :smt005  I have 2 at home. Nice rice cooker/pressure cooker. Cooks whole 8' ab in 2 hours. May not be big enough for canning. But when they have sale, you should grab a couple.  :smt003

Its very quiet. Doesn't produce the traditional chirp chirp chirp noise. Just quietly maintaining the pressure.
It was on sale for $70 once. Hence we got our 2nd one.

+1 on this.
Great, multi-cooker, works pretty well, I like it that there's a timer and I find them safer than the regular pressure cookers. Won't take big cans though.
