Looking to head up to either fort Ross or Stillwater for the afternoon. My girlfriend wants to come spend the day in the beach with the dogs also. Does anybody have any preference between the two spots for taking dogs and chillin on the beach?

There is day use parking inside the campground with a nice trail hike back down to the launch in the event the turnout parking is full. I typically drive past the small unloading area and make a u-turn at ocean cove, then drive back to stillwater to make backing in easier. The unloading area is fairly small and its on a nice hairpin turn.

Unfortunately Fort Ross beach is not open to dogs anymore. Didn't use to be that way.  :smt010

FWIW there is another beach between the two that you can bring the dog and usually have the beach to yourself. Kulmer gulch. It is almost exactly one mile North of Fort Ross. You'd have to be crafty getting the kayak down, but not impossible. I've never tried, but I spent my entire childhood on that beach with never as much as a visit from any authority.
If you want to thank a Vet, be a person worth fighting for.

I think Dillon beach is a dog friendly beach. Might be worth investigating.

Thanks for all the input guys! Ended up going to ocean cove. The guy at the store there was super nice. Had the beach all to ourselves and there was a good bit of trail to walk around and check out. Fishing was tuff cause low tide and my first time there but there sure is a lot of snaggy bottom. I fished along the right point all the way out to the end in mostly 50' of water. Fishing metal jigs Got 2 rockfish that were pretty Decent. And a 26" ling that chomped on a baby rockfish that had bit my shrimp fly. Id def go back but I didn't have wheels for my kayak and I didn't want to test my car on that ramp so I hiked my boat up and down.
