We made a diy PVC kayak that has always worked so-so.  Not looking for Beach deployments so Wheelz carry not necessary.  Was looking at the Seattle Sports Scupper Cart vs the Malone Xpress one.  Thoughts/recommendations?   I have a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 100 so it isn't a huge kayak.    Btw I'm a female so I'd prefer something easy [emoji39][emoji39]

When I got my cart for my Tarpon 120 the salesman said scupper carts can cause cracks at the scupper. I guess they're not designed to hold the weight that way. You might be better off with the Malone. Plus I think the Malone is easier to use for one person.

Correct on not using scupper carts. It may not hurt it, but why chance it? Hobie's were designed for that type, but others are not. Scupper carts are also harder for a single person to use. If you are on hard surface all the time any of the aluminum frame carts should work on a Tarpon 100. Harmony, Malone, etc.

I would steer clear of the scupper cart if you'll ever need to handle it by yourself. The only way I know of to install the scupper cart by yourself is to roll the yak onto its side, which is a PITA once it's all rigged up and full of gear.

I say buy once cry once... It's only a matter of time until you need beach wheels...

Thanks for the responses.  I was concerned about the other types of carts as I have a friend that has one and he says that it collapses on him when he loads it up.  I'll check out the Malone and the Harmony.  I was looking at the C-Tug too, but it seems a bit pricey.

Mine holds the load fine. There have been times when pulling the kayak over a rock or some bump the cart can't roll causing it to collapse. I solved that problem by using cam buckle straps from the front of the cart on each side to my front kayak handle. Now the cart can be pulled over the bump without collapsing.

Can you elaborate on the additional cam buckle straps that you put onto your kayak cart?  I'm sort of now leaning towards the Malone Nomad Standard Universal Kayak Cart.  Thoughts/comments???  Guess my price range is in the $80 range.

The red strap is towards the rear of the kayak and wraps around it. The cam buckle hooks on the cart and hooks to the front handle. I put one on each side of the kayak.

It's possible that wrapping the front strap around the kayak might work also, that is how I to it with my beach wheels.
