According to Brian Hoffman's report a huge bait of krill was spotted out in the ocean and bait seems to be plentiful as well. Kind of early this year.
Also it seems that a party boat was catching and releasing Salmon near Martins beach according to the report.

I'm all for a good season of Salmon fishing. Can't wait for the opener.

I don't know how good of a year it's going to be for salmon. I'm not that optimistic though. I'm just hoping for something... anything... Anything will be better than what we had last year. About there being a lot of bait out there... Yeah... I heard the same thing last year too... Actually, there may have been too much bait out there. And if you hear of a hot bite... hit it if you can because it'll probably be 2 days too late and it may not come back again. Last season, I got out opening weekend and waited for another chance... that never came for me.

Good luck to all of you who plan on chasing salmon down.
