Looking for another FF for my other kayak I was looking at a Striker 4 CHIRP only $119.00 I don't really need the chartplotter its not that great on the Striker 4 anyway. What has turned me off is I really started to look at the "Transmit Power RMS" Power rating they don't talk about this much but apparently it has a lot to do with how CHIRP works and the Striker 4 CHIRP is very weak its the lowest RMS of all the FF with CHIRP its only 200w RMS. OK so here is where I will be using this near shore rockfishing 25 to 125 ft of water and as most of you know the ocean water can be very dirty at times so would a 200w RMS transducer be strong enough in dirty water to get down and give good CHIRP signals back? Do any of you have experience with the Striker 4 CHIRP? Not the Striker 4 DV because that has a stronger 300w RMS transducer.

Have not used one myself however I am told there is a glitch in the FISHFINDER.  I guess the settings reset everytime you reboot making the user reset any custom FF settings each time.

As for power, that is kinda low for saltwater use unless you are strictly shallow water fishing.

I think they were to to hit a target retail price rather than innovate with that line.

Ya that's what I thought too 200w RMS is the lowest I have seen on a fish finder with chirp. The lowrance Hook 4 CHIRP I believe is more money but it is 500w RMS and I know that is strong enough. Even Garmins Striker 4 DV is only 300W RMS it would work but still on the light side. I will keep all this in the back of my mind and when I see something on sale I will pick it up.
I wish someone on this forum had a Striker 4 and used it in ocean 100ft plus to let me know how it looks or worked. I have not ruled out the Striker 4DV but at that price I might as well get the Lowrance.
