Hi guys,

i would like to pick your brains to see if it is possible to get a second person onto the back of the Outback every now and then with something like a camping chair. The person would be my gf. She is is tall but skinny (125#).

I know it is perfectly possible with the PAs, would love to hear from the Outback owners.

Thanks!

Chet

I'm small, and my wife is small, but we do this easily on a Revo13.  It would work even easier on an outback. The chair might be too high and unstable. I don't know where you'd put your fish, though.  I have an outback and a Revo13.  The outback is considerably more stable, but the Revo is a little  faster.  I fish in the ocean, but I don't go very far (usually less than four miles), so speed is not a big plus.  The outback comes equipped with four rod holders.  The PA is a lot heavier.  Too much boat for me.  When I take bigger guys I put them on the outback, and they seem comfortable. I've never actually used the PA.  Probably a good idea to try it before you decide.

Assuming you don't go over the rated weight limit you should be fine, but with that much weight in the back half of the boat handling will probably be affected, especially in windy conditions.

This guy mounted a boat seat on his PA 14. Looks cool, but it's pretty high and might make it a bit tippier.

PA 12 and Outback obviously don't have as much room in the back but you could easily add a folding stadium seat. Scroll down to last message here for a picture: http://www.akff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=58046

no I don't recommend it hard enough dealing what a loss due to cancer or an accidental death. this is the preventable accident waiting to happen. wind picks up swell end caps pickup suddenly you're in a bad predicament here's a picture of a buddy of mine in my loader Hobie tandem years back look at how low ass is sitting in water and how high front end is out of water on a picture perfect day.

If the rear submerges low enough that water can enter through the rudder lines, I think it will not work out.  If both of you were 125#, it might work.  But a PA14 can for sure do it, here is some proof for ya:
