CDF Closed CA Halibut season as of July 16 !??

   I just checked the legal size limit for Cali Hali, and the dreaded red closure dot was right at the top!  https://www.wildlife.ca.gov/Fishing/Ocean/Regulations/Fishing-Map/San-Francisco#pachalibut It says "expected to reopen August 1, 2016."  Has anyone else seen this???

That's for Pacific halibut.  California halibut are a different species.  You have nothing to worry about  .

Phew, thanks for the correction!  Duh.

The real surprise is that there is still room in the quota for reopening August 1. With all the pac hali reports in July I was a little worried.

I was hoping it would be open the day before Rockfish wars. Also, that we would have weather that would allow getting out to them. we shall see.
