Welcome! Ask just about any one on a beach up north with a kayak if they're on this board and you'll probably have a new friend!

Lineside was that you in the register with the Berryessa monster, just recently? Your avitar pic looked familiar.

Thanks for the welcome all.  I have a lot to learn and am still in the planning stage, but I'm excited.  I haven't fished in decades, and it was salt in baja and fly in ID; (and commercial in AK Bristol Bay) always with folks that knew more than me about fishing.  I look forward to learning and sharing what I learn with my daughter (hopefully escaping for dad/guy only trips too ;o)

Appreciated,

Mark

Welcome! Not much of a Fresh fishermen on the yak as I am usually stalking trout on banks of rivers / streams when I do :) But once you transition to salt or if you want to spend a morning / day practicing water entries I would be glad to help you out!!! Freshwater would be great to practice roll over and re-entry to the kayak situations.. The oceans a little chilly to knock that one off the list of things to know about kayak safety!

If you feel like making it out to Santa Cruz ever, feel free to contact me for a fishin Buddy.  :smt006
