Yeah it definitely beats sitting at home. I have friday off and the wind looks pretty good. Might have to give it a try

Friday's wind and tide look awesome. I'm debating about skipping work on Friday and fishing Tomales then heading straight down to Monterey for the PIF paddle Saturday.

I like to use (bodega marine zone forecast) that is my google search, then click on the area of the map you are going to be.  Be pretty effective, also bodega bay boon, has current wind on shore and a web cam, and a link to the WX buoy in tamales bay, if it is on line.

I arrived at Nicks around 5:45 to a much more windy Tomales Bay than NOAA or WXunderground promised.  I spoke to a trailer sailor who was contemplating launching but said even he was reluctant....too much wind.  I decided he was right and started to head for home and bumped into Capt Sloppywood.  He was going to meet up with me at Tomales but when he checked out the bay he to decided against it also.  Charles came along about then and he made it unanimous.  I hate the f***ing wind!!!  I'll be back!

A fuzzy photo that doesn't do it justice...it started to whitecap about the time I left.

I got there around 7:30.  The wind wasn't quite as bad but the fog had moved in and vis was less than 100 yards. The PBs were taking off full throttle into the fog.  Wouldn't want to be out there in a yak.
"Pedo Viejo" is what Antonio called me.

Sorry to hear Sam Kevin...
Yeah it sucks to turn around after two hrs of drive but it won't be fun with that much wind...
Tough call but you made right one.

That's what I use too!
Friday looks very good right now (wish I went Friday instead).
They're out there. Good luck!

Old Fart and I are going to try it again on Thurs.....the reports look good right now but only stepping up on the ramp will tell the tale.  We'll launch around 6 AM if anyone is interested in joining us.

Old Fart and I launched around 6 to a light chop....WX turned beautiful there after...nice day.  Met up with 3 other NCKA members...Charles, John (Bird) and Alan.  I had a hookup early...took the shiner right off the Sabiki and gave me a wild ride before coming loose without seeing him 5 minutes later.  Old Fart and I struck out....the other guys took 1 butt and a leopard and wrestled with a thresher before we hauled out at noon.
