Any suggestions on where to put in? I have surfed the jetty a number of times but have never pedaled out on my yak. Heading out tomorrow morning on the good report and light wind.  Any tips?

Paging AlexB....

He'll tell you to launch from the end of Brighton Ave. The other possibility is at the end of Wharf Road, but that spot is evil.

The "evil" part was for the end of Wharf Rd, next to the lagoon (end of Brighton is non-evil). Maybe it's just so for me, but I wiped out when launching from Wharf Rd.

I think the consensus is that the fish are not there right now. Get 10 posts and check out the running salmon thread that AlexB has going...

Sound like you want to catch salmon, who doesn't?
Type of kayak make or break the deal. What kayak do you plan to use for the task?

I have a rev 13. I have had good luck with salmon the past few seasons, but I mostly fish out of Fort Bragg and haven't launched from Bolinas

So did you go today? How was it? I plan on going tomorrow from Bolinas. It sounds like the fish are being caught from Point Reyes to Tomales Point, but there isn't really any easy access there, so I'll hope some are still south or come back south.

Hey guys. Just stumbled across this thread.

What's up, Cyarbrough?

Like others said, I prefer to launch from the end of Brighton Ave in Bolinas. The only time you'll have any issues at Brighton is if there's a south swell 3 feet or larger, or if you're trying to launch or land during an especially high tide (shore break crashes straight into concrete).

The bite on the Marin coast did slow down for a couple days, but it sounds like it picked up again. Several nice fish were caught inside the Duxbury buoy over the last day or two.

I'm busy for the next couple weekends, but let's fish some time.

Cheers,

Alex
