I went on a quick trip on the yak yesterday morning in the Napa river for some stripers. I started out at 6am near the end of incoming tide with slick glass water, no wind. I decided to toss a silent spook into 2-3ft. of water in a creek mouth. I hooked and lost a near 10lber on the second cast, and landed a small keeper on the next cast. Two casts later I hooked a 10+ pounder and lost it once again. I got a few more boils over the next few minutes and then nothing for the rest of the morning but a small shaker on a swimbait. It seems like the early morning and later afternoon are the prime times to be on the water in this heat.

Thanks for the report! I love getting into the striper in shallow water like that.
