Like Sean said......it looks pretty bad.  Welcome home Sean!

You should see the Russian right now. It's either Willie Wonka's river or a river of Yoohoo!

Thanks for the info guys, I think that I'll try San Pablo on Sunday, is anyone is going?  Reading the San Pablo posts I think that it'll be a good choice.  Any suggestions on where to launch the kayaks?

Hi George,

Most guys launch at either Bull Head or China Camp.  Sometimes they use Buck's Landing (adds a mile to the honey hole trip) or Black Point (I think that's the Petaluma River launch right under the HWY 37 bridge... that's where I used to launch a Klamath PB, pre-kayak.)  Launch site depends on what the tides are doing and how long you want to fish.  I'll be watching the weather closely... Erik K. still hasn't said where he's launching, or even if he will.  Weather for Sunday looks marginally better than Saturday, and high tide's a little later in the morning, so I'm thinking a Sunday launch.

Thanks for the info Backslider, though I really meant San Pablo Dam, where I've been reading about the beautiful trout that's been coming out of there lately.  Do you go for the Dino's (sturgeon) out of San Pablo?  That would be a blast to catch a monster on the kayak.

Thanks for the info,

George, you ready for some dino hunting? Is Bill's kayak outfitted yet?  We launch out of China Camp on an outgoing tide, paddle 1 mile straight out. We just have to be sure to come back in with at least 1 foot of water so we don't get stuck in the mud.  The sturgeon fishing is going to get real good here when the weather settles.  Another area we launch is at the highway 37 bridge at Sonoma Creek and fish out of the mouth.   A party boat picked up 2 keepers there yesteday.

Hey Max,

Bill still needs some things to get started, but he is very interested in us getting together to do some fishing of any sorts.  My buddy was talking about going out of China Camp to do some dino fishing and I can't wait.  Are you going with your church group for the opener of ab season?  It opens on a Sunday so I'm not sure if you're going to do any camping or not, but would definately like to get together soon with the 'yaks.

Abfest4 is May 31-June 3 this year.  I moved it back to hopefully get some warmer weather!  The 1st will be difficult for me, but maybe the weekend after.
