Redwood City Dino hunt Sat 2/24

Met up with Frankfishing at O'dark thrity and set out through the Redwood City Yacht Harbor. Was really nice and calm, a little chilly, with all kinds of crazy marks through the harbor. We figured it must of been bat rays with the way they were showng up on the FF. Finally made it out to the bay and anchored up.. or 'll say Frank anchored up. I proceeded to drag my 3lb. anchor through the mud for yards and yards. I hooked up with a 30" Leopard after about an hour so decided to move. Found a nice little spot and Frank and I hooked up with a few more Leopards to 39". Still no Dino love so we made one more move but no luck. Overall it was pretty cool talkin stories and braving it through the rain showers and wind. Saw one boater with a massive Dino on the way out, about 70". Acually don't know if that's massve in Dino terms but damn that sucker was almost as tall as I was.

I had a blast, even w/ loosing my anchor,even with the narly weather,even with  shore fishing when I fell in the water and even with my FF taking a dump the company more than made up for it.
This area needs to be expored more and I hope you'll have the time before your move up north.
Chuck E. called about the Dumbarton for the next day (Sunday) and from the looks of his picture it looks like passing was a wise decision. Also we had a better window of weather than they did on Saturday. I actually did a mud feast under my house on Sunday with a busted water line under my kitchen. Just can't stay away from mud lately :-}
Bryce and I did catch a few legal Leopard(s) which broke things up. Before my FF went down I did get some heavy marks in some of the area's we were in but unfortunately the loss of my anchor keep me from fishing these area's due to tide movement.

Frank, Bryce..... thanks for checking out that area for us.  I'd like to go there with you when the conditions are a bit more favorable.  I'm still thawing out and cleaning mud off from my Dumbarton trip yesterday.

I may have time this weekend! I'd like to work on getting an anchor release system set before then. I'll have to read Insaneduane's anchor trolley tutorial, that thing looks awesome!!

Hello everyone,

Thanks for the fishing reports.  I would like to join you guys on your next dino outing.  I am not yet set up for dino hunt, so my first trip will most likely just be about learning the setup and technique.  Maybe I'll fish for some leopards while I am out there.
