Did y'all end up getting out there? If so how was it? We opted for the kelp beds in Monterey bay this weekend and struck out. Tuna crabs everywhere and not a single bite.

This post was for a few years back.

I did dive out at Stillwater (SWS) and there was rockfish everywhere, did have to hunt out the larger ones.
Got a Ling as well outside the cove, as did the guy I was diving with.

Dove Otter cove Sat and was horrible, low vis, high winds and the otters playing with my gear.

Sorry for the late response! My son caught 1 blue and an undersized ling. I caught 8 Rock Cod. We tried PG but it looked like the weather wasn't gonna hold up so we hit Still water by 7am, turned out to be a good choice. About 10:30 the wind picked up and the fog rolled in so quick the pier vanished. Had a great 1st  day back on the water for the start of the season, definitely be back at Still Water as you just can't beat the fishing or the views!   :fishing2
