So I finally got around to mounting my FF to the yak. I had to keep it removable for when the family is aboard and still functional when I'm solo pursuing fish. For this first go round I think I did pretty good.

That above picture shows the whole assembly. The transducer can be flipped up out of the way when not in use. I fabricated a battery box from a Harbor Freight ammo box with parts from the stryker4 mounting kit.

Thanks! Awaiting the first trip to see how the setup works out.  I may need to do a better job of cord maintenance/routing from the milk crate.

I used various parts and pieces from the stryker4 kit to complete my battery box and mount the FF unit base to the yak.

I hear rumors that you have to (re)set the FISHFINDER settings everytime you power up the Stryker units; have you experienced this?  Your install looks good by the way!

I have not experienced this. I haven't been able to get out yet. Maybe next week after work at Muir, I can experiment but winds and swell permitting.

Are you just running the 'stock' FISHFINDER settings?

Yes. I have never owned a FF so I'm just getting my feet wet with the set up and using this FF.

Lemme know what you encounter.  Though I'm a Lowrance guy, I like to know & understand the limitations, issues, advancements, etc in other brands too.  I receive word from my sources but it's good to hear from others on the consumer side of it too.

Copy that, will do! Keep in mind I'm a complete novice when it comes to FF's I'll try to be the best consumer! Er in other words I'll be totally unbiased. I gotta be honest. I was glad that the unit turned on, made a GPS connection and I didn't mess it up in the fabricating process!

Novice or not ... all great feedback to hear.  I really like to hear feedback from the novice users because they are untainted from previous experiences  :smt044
