Shark week says the big ones hang out up here all year. Was talking about north of SF but SC seemed to have their share.

I've heard that there are no fish in Santa Cruz, and sharks are fish...
I don't like stuff that sucks.

here`s a graph for detection up in our neck of the woods...

http://gtopp.org/buoy-feeds/tomales-point/tomales-point-12-months.html
Cool chart of death, or life, how do you even read that chart?  Looks like each # on the left is a shark. and they hang from nov. through may ish.  Where is that buoy so I can test my shark shield?  No thank you.  Still the statistics are uncommon to meet one though it is possible and could be quite freaky and majestic.  I think I am scared of sharks.  At least ones that eat people on purpose.  One day, when I catch fish, should I bleed them at the buoy at dawn?

FWIW..every green diamond is a GWS ...my thought ;do I want to meet the LandLord no ..but I'm more likely to get hurt , injured or killed in a car accident by someone on their phone texting  or a drunk driver

I read ya'.....I am guessing that each # on the left is a tag, so that thick line at the bottom of green is a definite lurking resident at that time of year.  I used my imagination the other paddle out day in tomales and pictured the wave of moving water approaching the front of the 15.7 kraken and grabbing the bow about 3 ft in and giving me a shake and a spit, and I said outloud woah.....that's stinkin' big.......then I compartmentalized the experience in that GWS box in my head and fished on like a brave little boy!

Look at it this way ..there is approximately 180 pages of members with about 30 per page do the math..I've met or know 3 that have had encounters ,actual drive by's or physical contact with their kayak by GWS ..last one I know of was at Ocean Cove in Sept. Last year Gary got flipped over in his Hobie ,but no one actually saw it if it was a GWS...unless there's more and it's not reported here then ,that's pretty good ..oh the other two were at Bean Hallow years back..I've fished with those two guys ..they still go out

Boom, I'm in, hope we fish together some day, you might be my shark shield because my wife is more scared of the price then the shark encounter itself......
