I'm goin in(not the drink I pray).  Picking up live anchovies at 6am in SF and gonna be at Muir by 6:45.  1st ocean voyage.   I cannot use all the bait I get for 20$.  Free bait with a noob.  Is it worth it?  Only you will find out.

Today is 5/15

Not sure why you would use live anchovies there. I'm sure there are big bait balls there right now bring a sabiki and jig some up if you want. Best thing to do is to troll for salmon out there with a dead herring or anchovie

Good choice you can never go wrong with live bait and sometimes it's hard to catch on a sabiki. I've caught halibut, wsb and many lingcod on the live stuff that I'm sure I wouldn't have touched with frozen.

Good luck out there and let us know how you do.

Great lesson, no fish, long haul, ctug fail in sand, beach launch and landing good, wind picked up, a liittle seasick, grey whale surfaced super near me but I didnt see it.  People on the beach were asking, "Did you see that whale?" no, I missed it due to my state of stomach, dolphins swimming near, one seal, pelican finding bait so sabiki may have been the ticket because bait is heavy from the lot.  Hauling back, dang....maybe I should excercise.  Might get the sand wheels for ctug.  Livewell would not prime on 6 volt 12amph battery.  Tsunami 500 on bigwater timer.  No boats, 2 at stinson, water got dirty after wind picked up.  Glad to be home, kids and leftovers.......

Hey Eddie,

Keep at it, that place can produce.....................
occasionally. Need to be in shape to get to the water from the parking lot though.

Thanks for the report!

Cheers,
Michael

The ctug is ok for hard packed launches (paved) but is terrible in sand. Save yourself the frustration and get a set of wheeleez with the big sand tires. I own both. I haven't even looked at my ctug since getting the wheeleez
