Got Plasma Fusion ?

Thought I'd give an update as I have posed a few questions to the forum about what my, "Fellas …" are up too…

  From Tesla Coils to Death Lazars, the most feared, respected and most expensive has been the creation of the Fusion Reactor.

          Many times I have had to ask that they,

                     " Not recreate the Sun in their Bedroom Today…"   

After much consulting, thank you so much to the UC Executive Director of Plasma Fusion at UC Berkeley who has taken my high school seniors under his wing and given some comfort to their mother as they have heated their reactor core up to ungodly degrees, getting the pressure down for the reaction to occur…

and it did…
 
My Guys are now one of "18 ", that includes groups with mentors, who are 18 or under to have proven plasma fusion…

Dang Don,

I can see their pump they have is a pretty expensive one as well as the chamber. At least they are having a great time and both of them will become great engineers/physicists with their hands on approach. Hopefully they didn't get the chamber to 22 million degrees and introduce the reactive material in there or it would have burned down your house! Where is the cooling system?

Good to see that they are doing well and are growing up so fast. I will be down in Southern Cal in a few weeks for my daughter college graduation. She paid for it on her own and with a little help from me at the end. Like her brother, a commercial plumber, she too is almost debt free from her education.

there are already world wide engineering companies that want to know what they did to their power supplies to make this work. Also chased a Boeing defense contractor off the lawn last month, ( Their last years UC Berkeley Chemistry guy who got a job at Boeing and knows what their up too…)

Your right about the Reactor Splashdown… I did not know how hot the sucker got till we were in it…and yes, I did imagine that metal glob melting right throughout the top floor and heading to China… I guess they can get it to 3000 degrees, or more… cooling systems was a 5 gallon bucket of water, 1/2 " steel, small fans and bricks, not your ordinary bricks, something about these bricks with lead or something in them, yes, mailed to us as everything is, even the wood, but it all helped, even when they were worried, that got me concerned, when we ran the 5 minute test…  this sucker was glowing …  not sure what is going on, but a Black Hole obviously did not happen…

All over the world…  UPS, DHL, Fed-X, and one that scare me the most, the vans with "no labels" dropping stuff off at my house, everyday…

 even Sunday, I'm not sure what world they have tapped into, but it's extensive and yes, expensive…

but Hey, they way I look at it…

this could have easily been the same cost or more than two drunk driving tickets and juvenile court ….

  so glad they did not follow after their Dad…

I realized their interest and mechanical aptitude long ago and always supported it no matter how nutty sometimes ….

A little Unsolicited advise in child raising as no one really has the answers …

ROFLMAO, maybe 20 years or so ago, the Air Force sold at auction for scrap a portable nuclear reactor (who knew we had those),  seems the guy who bought it for scrap, read the instructions, and thought maybe this wasn't supposed to be sold.  So he calls the Air Force and tells them  what he has, they blow him off. So the guy posts a for sale add in NY Times or some other paper Nuclear Reactor for sale, with some technical info.  Seems the AF figured out the mistake and bought it back for a hefty sum.  So you never know if there is a nuclear supply store down the street.
