fished the cosines river preserve for the first time today, targeting stripers. launched at about 1 paddled for a good ways up the cosumnes and then back down and fished the mokelume. I was throwing swim baits and lipless cranks but ended up with a skunk. Learned a lot though, definitely going to try fishing dusk or dawn next time. Amy suggestions for fishing at the preserve? Do you guys have better luck for stripers in the cosumnes or in the mokelume? Thanks for reading.

There are striper there. Fish the tides. I usually target black bass there. I almost never get skunked.  The red eyed bass are plentiful and a blast to catch.
If you are set on striper, bring perch gear and fish the rip rap and docks by the bridge. Get a bluegill or two, hook them up for striper bait. If they are out there, you'll get 'em.
Good luck!
