Just wondering what the markup is on these cameras and extra equipment.  I have been looking at getting a set up that will work wonders on land but has the ability to shine underwater in a professional housing.  Still lots to learn but wanted a better idea on what's a good sale price.  Leaning towards a mirrorless full frame camera with great low light processing, but would also like to hear from anyone that went down that road and if there are different opinions I would like to hear why.

Thanks for any advice,

DG

I've owned both,  used Canon xxD series cameras for years.   We also have a Sony NEX camera.   You probably need to decide what your main focus ( no pun intended) is for using it.  The D-SLR will have more settings and options to get the shot you want.  With that it adds complexity, cost and weight.   More often than not, for walking about and events we take the Sony NEX because it is more compact, and 90% of the time will yield comparable if not better pictures than the D-SLR  (mainly due to the fact I'm not quick enough anymore to get the proper settings on spur of the moment shots).

Never used one underwater, but underwater photography in our neck of the woods is pretty rough!

Fuzz takes amazing underwater shots. Don't know what make and model he uses or what underwater housing he uses. I believe Papa Bill has taken underwater pictures with his Canon 5D.
