As a number of folks down here have attended prior Oregon events (ORC, Sunset Bay), I've been asked to spread the word for the second annual Tillamook May Day Event - May 21st in Garibaldi OR:

http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=16597.0

The event, with all proceeds benefiting Portland's HOW chapter, started last year, with participants from OR, WA, and ID.  They are hoping to expand this year's participation - if anybody is interested, please follow the above link for details.  For more information, please check out the many TBMD threads in the NWKA Events forum.

Thanks,
Sam

Hey All,
I'm a member of NWKA as well and Mojo Jojo is hosting this tournament.  He asked if I would be the go between to put anyone in touch with him that wants more info or to register.  PM me and I can give you Mojo's number.

Thanks and Fish On!
Todd

Thanks SamM for posting and thanks Todd for volunteering to go between. I got my NCKA account up and running today so any questions can go on the post or you can PM me. I know GSX is the same day but May Day is always the Saturday with an early morning low tid as we have 5 rivers dumping into this bay and the tide is not traversable in the opposite direction of said water flow , no not even in a hobie with turbo fins. It's still a small tournament only in its second year but 100% of the proceeds go to H.O.W. Portland chapter.

Garibaldi is a long haul, but they do have a nice marina there.  I did the Oregon Tuna classic there once.

Ya I love living here it's a drinking town with a fishing problem for sure but not too rowdy.  :beer2
It can get real nasty in the winter time but I'm only 35 minutes from Pacific City/Cape Kiwanda one of our goto surf launch spots, got rolled coming in Wednesday love it.

It's only an 8 hour drive from your stomping grounds of course with all the opportunity to fish between I'm thinking a two week round trip so you got plenty of time to fish :smt005
Plus we had Pmmpete from Montana here last year.
