Anyone heading that way this weekend? We rented a beach house months ago and despite some high winds and swell, I'd like to at least drop some pots near the jetty. Anyone been out recently and know if theyre still catching dungies? What about halibut fishing in that area? I caught a shaker butt at ARW last weekend on the troll and would love to try that out again. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks

Whatever you plan on doing, plan on doing it Saturday morning. Winds are supposed to be in the high 30s on Sunday.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

A friend and I got 16 on Tuesday in 4 traps.  Most on the outside of the jetties, but some inside too.  It was a beautiful day.  Good luck.

Thanks JCrumm! I was starting to think I shouldn't even bother. Read a lot of old posts about halibut in bodega/doran and doesnt look very promising on that front, so very glad to hear there's still some crab to be found.

I'm planning on crabbing Saturday morning. Be nice to have company out on the water, especially if the swells are big and it gets windy.

Dropped my pots late this afternoon, maybe 6pm. A bit windy but nothing bad. Didnt go far. Found some space just out past the jetty, but its crowded out there! See you all early for the pull!

Pulled my 3 pots at 7:30 for only 2 keeper males and 3 smalls. Couple nice rocks, too bad still closed.  :smt011  Met a guy out there who'd been soaking for 2 days and found his pots empty with no bait. He was positive they were raided. I kinda got the feeling mine were messed with too. Oh well, bodega is kinda known for it and I wasn't watching them so can't complain too much.  Reset 2 of 3 and gonna be back to check in a couple more hours. Im on a green outback.

I got 6 total. One on the jetty side and five on the ocean side with a one hour soak. There were a lot of Rock Crab in the traps on the jetty side.

Left the 2 pots out overnight and made a windy recovery early this morning for 5 keepers. Crazy wind. I know to never mess with winds over 20 knots now. The paddle back in was a slog.
