I'm sure this is in the wrong place, but that's part of being new here!

This is my first post to the board, and I just wanted to say "hi".  I am in San francisco, and am new to this sport.  I have a touring kayak that I fished out of in Baja last year, and it's time to get into this in a more local way.  I was @ the Fred Hall show, and met a number of great folks there(ChuckE, Mooch, Danglin, Alan B. and others, as well as Spike and Jim S. from out of town).  Learned a ton, and saw how much I don't know yet.  I'll be getting my gear together, and looking for a SOT boat.  Thanks for being around to talk to when I came looking, you'll be hearing more from me!

Welcome, Rick!  It was nice meeting you at the Fred Hall show and talking about fishing and BASK. These NCKA guys (and gals) will keep you out of trouble for the next five years...I think!

Welcome Rick!
I learned to paddle in the SF Bay with a bunch of folks from UCSF's "outdoors unlimited" and BASK. Needless to say, it changed my life for the better! I too started with a sit-in, but the SOT's are the way to go for low maintenance, knock around fishing craft.
See you on the water!

Wow,

Thanks for the support!  It is great to have people respond(and even remember what I said last weekend!).  I'm looking forward to getting you'all better!

Chuck, maybe I'll develop the "patented epee-gaff" from RickCo!

Janice, Not too interested in keeping out of trouble, just in finding new ways to get into it!

Now I'm off to learn more in the forums!

Rick
