Anyone hunt mushrooms in Sonoma?

I showed your photos to Phil Carpenter at the Santa Cruz Fungus Federation. Here is what he had to say: "The mushrooms in question look to me like a common wood chips-inhabitor called Agrocybe precox. The spore color is cigar brown. There is another common one called Agrocybe pediades which has an annulus (A. precox does not) and tends to be more clustered in growth. To be sure, of course, I'd need to see 'em."

Please note that this is not a positive I.D., since he didn't see them in person. Don't eat them.

Here is what Arora says about Agrocybe precox: "Edible, but not recommended. The taste is mediocre at best, disgusting at worst, and there are a number of variants in this group whose edibility is unknown."

Here is what Arora says about Agrocybe pediades: "Edible, but not recommended. It is easily confused with poisonous mushrooms."
