Hi everyone, I'm planning on buying the raymarine dragonfly 4 with navionics map this week and was wondering on people's set ups. What battery is better/do you use? What case to put it in and any and all mounts and accessories needed to mount it all up. Where is your transducer mounted? Transom mounts vs through hull etc. Any and all info is appreciated thanks everyone.

If you use the search box at top right, you can find many many threads there on the forum covering just this topic. The downside is you'll have to do a lot of skimming to find what you need, but then again you'll get a lot of different perspectives which will help you hone in on what will work best for you.

For my Dragonfly 4 I  got a 5.2AH LiPo from www.hobbyking.com in a waterproof box from Dicks and along with a LiPo undervotage alarm. Along with that in the hull is a microcell foam block stuck to the hull with marine sealant (I used locktite brand, but Marine goop or 3M works too). The foam is cut to fit the transducer and hold it in a water bath which is key. There must must must be no air between the transducer and the hull, and the best way to guarantee that is to have it sitting in water.

I made a custom mount for my headunit to sit on the tracks, but you'll just need to find a solution that works for your boat. There are no shortage of videos on the subject. You should check out the ACK videos on the subject.

You may be hesitant to drill the hull (I was) but unless you plan on storing your battery on the deck (you shouldn't) you'll need a way through the hull. Buy the hobie thru-hull wiring kit. Yes, they're expensive but they're the exact tool that you need for that job. There are other similar options but none that give you as clean of an end result.

I have a Dragonfly 7 pro and I used the ram mount with the Hobie thru hull wiring kit and then grinder down the mounts on the Hobie Lowrance transducer mount which enabled a nice snug fit for the long Raymarine transducer

It's an ascend fs12t. Fine on the lake but will probably get something else for bay and ocean. This thing moves like a tank in the water but on the other hand a great work out haha

I am located in Fremont.  I have the Dragonfly 7 that I switch between my 2015 Revo 13 (outside transducer pocket) and 2012 Adventure Island (in hull water bath method).  Each kayak has its own transducer.

PM me if you want to check mine out.

I have an ascend D10T and I have my FF on a ram mount and the transducer on a ram mount arm. I like the ram arm because I can pull it out of the water when I pull into shore.
