Has anyone here used KastKing braided line? I've always used either Power Pro or Suffix brand and have no complaints except for the cost. Kastking is a third of what Power Pro cost and with my growing collection of reels it's getting a little pricey. Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Was wondering the same thing myself. Multiple reviews claimed it didn't hold up to the advertise line strength.

How often do any local braid users actually push their braid anywhere close to the working loads?  Most typically use it for the low stretch, small diameter & abrasion resistance.

I don't know about abrasion resistance, but definitely low stretch and extra line for snag happy days.

For the salt I use KastKing Dyneema Spectra (eBay).  For freshwater fishing I use KastKing Mega 8 Super (Amazon). I have been very pleased with both lines. The spectra starts to fray at the ends and the dye does start to come off but it has always held up. The Mega Super 8 is a little stiffer than the PowerPro equivalent that I was using, not a con just an observation, and it holds a better knot for me. I have no complaints with either especially at the price point.

I've been using it for about 6 months now on one of my reels and power pro on another one and can't tell the difference. It cast just as good as PP and is just as sensitive. I've also had some good snags with it and it held up fine and I ultimately end up breaking off the Floro leader before the braid.

At half the price I am happy. I also got some 30 for my salt rig and will be trying it out soon.

Never heard of this brand but I'll definitely give it a try.  Looks decent.

One last thing make sure you go with the 8 strand.

Curious, have you put it to the test on a big fish?  I'd think the real test would be to stress it out on a decent fish (relative to test line being used of course) and see if the line holds.  I've seen a good amount of reviews stating that the line almost always snaps in the middle, rather than closer to the knot.  In my mind, that doesn't sound good.  But for the price, I may buy some to test it out for myself anyways.

20 pound striper is kind of a big fish and a 6 pound spot. Both using the 15lb 8 strand KastKing.

James...I said big fish.   :smt044 :smt044  Just playing bro...20lb striper on 15lb test sounds good to me.  I'm guessing this wasn't the standard superpower braid, because the 8 strand is only offered from 65lb test for this type.  Did you get the Mega8?
