They are clearing hydralia and re-paving the launch. Couldn't put in yesterday because they were working down there. It might be open this weekend, but have a backup launch
site in mind if you go down there. Wimpy's  ($5) or rough launch from the gates if it is closed.

They're re-paving the old ramp behind Locke?

That's what the guy on the bobcat told me. I think they are putting down gravel? Not sure. I'll post up next time I'm out there.

This is good news. DM is one of my favorite places to fish. I haven't been there since they closed the road. Hope they reopen the access.

Thanks for the updates!

Al

You can get around the gate to the right. There's a little trail. Just lay your rods down to clear the tree. It's a bit of a walk, but not bad.

Wow, this is good news.  So you should be able to get back into Snodgrass from there?

It is a short paddle to Snodgrass.
They are currently clearing hyacinth. Running 3 crazy contraptions, a backhoe, and a dump truck.
The dump truck was parked on the ramp today, so I had to wait for it to leave to put in.
The launch is covered in black plastic sheet, and extremely slippery.
I trolled around and picked up 4 shaker striper. Too windy to do much else.
They are removing the hyacinth on the east side of the twin city's bridge. That section has been locked in and used to a be good bassy area. Hopefully it will be again. Unfortunately, this is going to take a while.
You can still sneak around the gate and launch, but be prepared to wait. The slip 'n slide launch is interesting. I got wet.

Paddle-wheel hyacinth removing thingies. The first one says FL... like from Florida? Crazy.
