Steelhead Season Closer with NCKA's Finest on the South Fork Eel - 3/31/16

Last hurrah for Spring 2016 Steelheading on the South Fork. The season closed yesterday with the SF just starting to come in to good form down low. I'd offered my good friends Terry and Ron a cancellation when flows didn't drop as quickly as predicted and turbidity still had the water at slate-like with a green tinge, but these brothers are great outdoorsmen and wanted an adventure. We did the 14 mile route from Lansdale to Dyerville and had a blast together on a beautiful day with sunshine and light winds. We did encounter some strong canyon breeziness near the forks, but that was fine as we were ushered off the water by Ma Nature. No steelhead bites this day, but covering the miles and seeing the sights was a pleasure - a trip next year will be that much better with the Oldgrowth Corridor route under your belts, guys. Thanks again for a great day OTW!
