I took a ride up to the Blue Lakes.  Launched at the Narrows Resort.  Really nice people there.  They only charged my wife and I $5.00 total to launch both kayaks.  Anyway, trolled down around 8 feet.  Went all the way to the north end and didn't get bit.  Fished from the narrows about halfway down to Pine Acres and turned around mid lake.  The score was a total of 5 hook ups and 5 lost fish.  Don't know what we were doing wrong, but we don't keep the fish anyway unless injured.  Water was a bit muddy north of the narrows and much better below the narrows.  I did see other fish landed.  Most fish at  8 feet or above.  Trolled mini flashers and 1/2 Berkeley mini crawler.

Did you have a long tail on worm, was it bit off right at the hook?  I know that happens to me when trolling flashers.  You can put a little stinger hook on, or not have such a long tail behind the hook.

I discovered that after tossing new "Roostertails" I started to get short strikes. WTH?  I determined that the hair covering the hook, when in the water was simply too long and started to cut the hair right at the hook.  Short hits stopped and more hook sets happened with the hair cut lures.
